Our sales department just handed me a puzzle and I hope it can be solved with Solarwinds. Several of our business customers have redundant connections through competing ISPs (that is just prudent on their part). However, sometimes an engineer (from the customer or the other ISP) will reconfigure the customer's router to send all traffic to the other ISP. usually leaving just a trickle passing through our network.
We would like to get an alert when this happens or is suspected. An alert triggered when interface traffic falls below "X Bps" would do it (With a few false alarms that we would sift out in manual checking).
Also useful would be a report showing which interfaces have the lowest traffic over the last day or week. A bottom 10% if you will.
Can either be done? If so which one and how?
