Orion v10 Advanced Alert question

I think I asked about this quite some time ago, in a different forum, but the question has been rasied by my managmenet again -

With ipMonitor, and a competitors product, I was able to create an alert that showed something along the lines of "Node has been down XXX minutes" when a reset was triggered.  Is there ANY way at all to get this informaiton from Orion  v10 advanced alerts?

As it is now, we have to look at the first "down" alert, and the "reset" alert, and determine the difference manually - which is not a effecient way to do this.  Seems to me that if it can be done in ipMonitor, with its limited alerting, Orion should be able to do this w/no problem.

Hi Don,

Try adding this to the message body in the reset trigger:

NODE DOWN FOR - ${SQL:select top 1 datediff(minute,logdatetime,getdate()) as downtime from alertlog where message = 'Alert Triggered'}

It looks in the AlertLog table and does a datediff using minutes against the time when the message showed 'Alert Triggered'.  I've tested this on my installation here and it appears to work correctly.
