ARM Collector installation 2019.4.1

Question

Hello,

if I do a clean installation of just the collector part, the installer also copies the installer of sql server express onto the server.

Why is that? The sql server express is not needed for the collector to run?

Sorry about that so I ran the installer custom just the collector and it created a folder in C:\programfiles\solarwinds

arm inside the folder is the SQL express installer but it is only 329 MB

I think you did not read my post. I quote "if I do a clean installation of just the collector part". This means I already used the advanced installation and choose only the collector to be installed. But the ARM installer copies the installer of SQL Server express onto server. Which is unnecessary.

BTW. the ARM installer puts 1,55 GB onto the server for just the collector...

Install additional collectors
