Hello,
my kiwi web access database is 4gb great. And i have some timeout errors executing filters.
I am trying to use an external MSSQL DB with kiwi syslog server.
Is possible for Web access to use this external DB?
Thanks
Good day galejj,
It is possible to configure Kiwi Syslog Server to write to a MS SQL Server database by using the Log to Database Action (more info at http://www.kiwisyslog.com/help/syslog/action_log_to_odbc_database.htm), however, it is not possible to configure the Kiwi Web Access component to use this database.
Having that said, you would need to write your own web interface in order to query your MS SQL Database.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Fodome,
i have redirect logs to an external DB with success. Do you think, that my problem with filter timeout in web access is related to the 4 gb dimension of DB? Is there a possible solution to continue to use web access with a lot of logs?
galejj,
A few things you could try:
1. Upgrade to Kiwi Syslog Server 9.3/Kiwi Web Access 1.4.1. as there a few improvements with Filters in this version.
2. On the "Settings" tab, try setting the "Rows per Page" to 10.
3. On the "Admin" tab, try setting the "Execution Timeout" to 10 minutes.
See if this speeds things up.
Chris,
This is news to me. When was v9.3 released? I've never received any announcement nor have I seen a announcement on Thwack unless I missed it. Where are the release notes? I just downloaded v9.3 from our portal but the readme file isn't very helpful on improvements and fixes in v9.3.
