Would there be any interference? Is this recommended or supported?
mastranios I think it would be best to have as little running on your primary poller/web server as possible. If you have the resources to run your syslog server on its own server, then I think that would be the best option. However, I suppose it really comes down to your environment (size/elements/modules/etc...), and the resources you have available.
I think NPM/Core actually has the Kiwi Syslog server running, or at least some version of it. But the less traffic you have going to the main server, the better it will run... or at least should...
Thank you,

I thought so as well but was told is was a syslog server for the actual program and any problems that it had. I wasn't able to find any good documentation on if it was a full fledged Syslog server. i suppose I will search deeper.
NPM has its own syslog server that is part of the Orion core. You can disable the Orion syslog server, and use the kiwi syslog server. NPM and Kiwi do not interact.
Hi
please look at that setup that will keep your NPM DB health.
I forward from kiwi 2 NPM only the syslog&traps that need to " act on now"
