APM 4.2 Template Issue

So we just noticed in the 4.2 release notes the following:

"The Protected Storage service has been removed from the Windows Server 2003-2008 Service and Counters template due to its default behavior"

So we went back and checked our template and it still contains the Protected Storage service monitor.  Which raises a few questions. 1 - Why did the template not update when we upgraded to 4.2 or even 4.2 SP1.  2 - How do we get the updated template.  3 - How do we validate our other templates to ensure they are the latest version as well?

Existing templates that are applied to nodes are not updated as part of the upgrade process. The reason being that we don't want to negatively impact your production environment by making changes to application templates in use in your environment through the upgrade process. In some instances customers may have customized these templates, and these changes would be lost during the upgrade procedure if the template was updated.

For minor modifications like these we document the change so existing customers can update their templates if they so desire. For more substantial changes we rename the older template by prepending "legacy" to the name and import the new new updated template. All existing nodes that have the original template applied remain intact and unaffected.
