Is there a way to view Netflow Endpoints IP Addresses as Domain Names?

It seems that everywhere else in the platform IP addresses are resolved to Domain Names, other than those displayed within Netflow Endpoints. I'm not sure if there's a setting involved, or configuration done incorrectly.

Does anyone know anything about this?

That might be a setting you have for NTA, check:

Click Settings > All Settings.
Under Product Specific Settings, click NTA Settings.
Scroll down to DNS and Netbios Resolution.

You might have it disabled there.

I believe my configurations for those settings are fine.

Throughout the rest of my NTA platform, all IP addresses seem to be resolving just fine. The only exception is the Endpoints to Nodes. Endpoint IP addresses don't ever seem to resolve into Domain Names.

I'm split on whether this is a installation/configuration error on our part, whether I need to strengthen DNS and NetBIOS resolution settings, or whether SolarWinds simply does not support this.

It doesn't strike me as a supportability issue, so maybe I'm not understanding the direct issue like I thought. Do you have a screenshot of where you're not seeing these IPs resolved?

Have you confirmed directly from the server that it's able to resolve the DNS of the node by pinging by hostname, nslookup, etc? Are these nodes being processed by an additional poller? If so, have you checked the same from there? Is there a netflow forwarder/repeater involved or anything like that?

I'd rather not post a screenshot with that kind of information on a public forum. I'm sure you understand.

While logged into the server, I can resolve the hostname through 'ping -a' and nslookup.

There is no additional poller, and there is no netflow forwarder/repeater involved.

So I'm not sure what could be skewing the results.

However I just doubled the 'Maximum time given to resolve an IP address' from 60 to 120 seconds. I've noticed a few Node Endpoints have resolved to Domain Names. So this might've been the fix I needed, but there's no way to tell until I give it more time to make sure they weren't just exceptions...
