3.5 Real Time monitoring without Orion
dlavingia
We can either implement Solarwinds syslog server or use another which we have in place now for syslog monitoring (or even a different one if reccommended) however what is the process for getting 3.5 to do live monitoring?
The help docs within the app didn't reveal any details other than to run an external app. Is the trick to launch the auto downloader with the IP of the device reporting the change?

You are correct. When a configuration changes, your monitoring server should execute the auto downloader and pass the IP of the device that is reporting the change.
Note: The passed IP must be the same IP that is entered within Cirrus.

I tried to get this setup, per the documentation, and have not found any success. In addition to executing the following action:
"E:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\ConfigAutoDownload.exe" ${IP}
I have a secondary action to log to a file, to make sure my syslog rule is firing. My log file exists, as expected. However, Cirrus never downloads the config from the device, nor sends me a notification. Of course, I've been having LOTS of problems with my scheduled configuration download jobs staying stuck in the "running" mode until they are manually cancelled.
