95th percentile report / combined total

Hi there...

If you look at this is pretty much exactly what I'm after but haven't found a reply anywhere.

I'm not a SQL guy and looking for help on how to build a report comprised of serveral interfaces from several routes - display all of them graphically and then at the bottom of the report have all those graphs "added together" for a cumulative total Each graph (including cumulative) must have 95th percentile.

Is this possible with the current system?

Really? We when went through the purchasing cycle with Solarwinds we were told it was no problem to create custom reports - so we used this particular example and were told it was no problem to do. I'm liking the product overall but this reporting/graphing issue is pretty major to us...

Questionario is correct in that you can't create graphical custom reports from within SolarWinds. In order to accomplish this you will need some external program that captures the data from the database with SQL queries and then graphs it for you. SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) is one of the tools that can make this possible.

Also, it's possible to connect Excel to a database to pull data out with queries and then you could create a set of graphs from within Excel.

No matter how you do this it's going to require you pulling data from the database. There have been a lot of requests for feature enhancements to allow you to create graphs using the custom reporting tools in Orion; you should find those feature requests and sign up for them.

Thank you for the responses. We were told by our sales rep that this was specifically possible and it was a "heavy" part of our requirements when purchasing. The direct response after our sales rep checked with engineers was "this is quite possible with the report writer to generate 95th percentile reports including graphs, along with a cumulative 95th percentile graph"

As it sounds like it's *not* possible that is disappointing - sounds like we won't have a choice but to use 3rd party to query the database and produce reports.... do you know how we find these feature requests and try to add some traction on this matter?
