MAC Address Discovery
deke52
It would be nice to be able to scan for MAC addresses across subnets. Solar Winds has mentioned in the past that this is being worked on. This would be very helpful on large networks. Thanks.

The way the current MAC Address discovery works is by utilizing your machines local arp processes. You can discover MACs of remote networks if you have SNMP access to the router (default gateway) of the remote network. You could do this either using the mibviewer or IP Network browser. If using MibViewer, use RFC1213-MIB:atTable for the table to download and enter the correct IP and SNMP Community string. If using IP Network Browser, enter the IP to discover and expand the ARP Table.
