I cannot seem to find where this is done. anyone mind giving me a quick set of instructions on how to do it?

There is no way to do this through the UI currently. You'll need to open a Support ticket and a Support Tech can help you remove the entry from the database. It's on our list of future product improvements.
I can confirm that Balki 1429 said. There is a query you perform against the DB and it removes the federated collector. Engage support and you should have it taken care of with 24 hours.
