I would like to inventory Aruba AP's in NCM. As they are not SNMP devices it would take whatever method is used to see AP's in NPM.
HI Donald--
I'll make sure the PM sees this. Are you familiar with the What We Are Working On in NCM post. If not, check it out here:
Happy Holidays,
M
When you load a device into NPM it pulls the system OID and assigns it a graphic if there's one available or loads it up with the "uknown" graphic. As long as it's responding to the minimum MIBs (host resources, interfaces, etc) NPM will be able to monitor it. On the NCM side it's simpler because once it's loaded you're using other protocols (TFTP, telnet, ftp, ssh) to deal with it.
So if your goal is to simply add them to the list, add them like any other device. They may not get a pretty graphic if but they'll be there. If you mean to inventory them in the NCM sense - running commands against them to get additional information, I refer to you MarieB's answer - check out the "coming soon" page.
If you add the Aruba controller as an NPM node via SNMP, it should pull down in to the Wireless portion of NPM all your AP's users etc and sort them into the Wireless feature. You shouldn't need to add the AP's directly.
Fix your signature, Morgolis. *bonk*
