Reload Reason in Alert

I have a poller setup on all of my Cisco switches and routers which shows the reason for the last reload on the node details page. That part works great, I'm trying however to have that info show up in the alert text. I've been playing with it on and off for the past couple of weeks and I'm sure I'm just overlooking it but was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Is it a plain or html email? If it's html, there is some change in the syntax, but I am not completly familiar with it. it might also not like being on seperate lines, try:

${SQL:SELECT [CustomPollerStatus].[Status] FROM [CustomPollerAssignment] inner join CustomPollers on CustomPollers.CustomPollerID = CustomPollerAssignment.CustomPollerID inner join CustomPollerStatus on CustomPollerStatus.CustomPollerAssignmentID = CustomPollerAssignment.CustomPollerAssignmentID where CustomPollers.MIB = 'OLD-CISCO-SYS-MIB:whyReload' and CustomPollerAssignment.NodeID = ${NodeID}}

Also, try:

I'll admit I don't know all that much about the alerts, learning as I go but should you be able to just paste that in the alert text or where should it go? I tried it that way and it just e-mailed exactly that

Putting it all on one line did it! Thanks for your quick help on this, I've been beating my head against the wall for way to long with no results (other than a dented head). Looks great!

This statement works great with one exception. When the alert is triggered for a node which does not have the custom poller "whyReload" assigned the whole $SQL statement is output in the alert message text. Can this statement be enhanced to return the value "unknown" if the custom poller is not assigned to the node? Or, any way to suppress the SQL statement altogether from being output in the alert message text?
