Multiple agents on Profiler Server - required for seperate networks

I'm currently evaluating Storage Profiler.

I've an agent running in my isolated storage network which connects to SAN & Backup systems & VMWare.

However in order to profile servers i also need an agent on the production server network.

Is it possible to have multiple agents on the profile server? and how do i do this?

Hi,

We don't have an option to have multiple agents on one server. I am not sure why you want to do this. In general, you deploy more agents if you want to 1) Monitor that physical server 2) Spread the load of monitoring Arrays, VMware, switches to multiple agents (or multiple locations/networks).

It sounds like you want to monitor some devices in your production network, in which case you would need to put some agents there. Let me know if you have more questions.

The reason behind multiple agents is that we have an isolated storage (iSCSI) network.

The Profiler is currently connected to this network to profile our SAN & Virtual Center (has a NIC on the storage network)

However i would also like to monitor non VM's on the production network,

Can the SAN be monitored via VC only or does it require a direct connection to the SAN?

hi,

You just need an agent on a server than can talk to both networks. You can choose to put Profiler Server in either network (storage or production network) and leverage agents to monitor the resources in the respective networks.
