Converting Response Time Values to something more friendly

Writting a particular alert based upon response time of a particular SQL Query and would like to display the current response time in the body of the alert, which of course is easy because I can just use ${ResponseTime}. However the team requesting the alert wants to know the time in minutes while response time is measured in miliseconds. Is it possible to convert the output of $ResponseTime into seconds/minutes in the body of the emailed alert?

Replace ${ResponseTime} with something like the following:

${SQL:select cast(responsetime as decimal)/1000 from nodes where nodeid=${NodeID}}

That would be response time in seconds. To convert to minutes, simply change the divisor to 60000.

I hope you don't mind me asking but do you normally have nodes with response times measured by seconds or minutes?

I think you can also use a Custom Poller to be able to get the response that you would normally get, then you are able to perform calculations on it.

For example, when monitoring Brocade switch's temperature, it reports it back in units, with each unit being Half a Degree. So to get the real temperature, I had to set up a custom poller and perform a calculation on it to divide by 2 to get the real temperature.

Something like that could also work.
