VoIP Monitor EVAL setup issue - service will not start

Question

Hi all

I have just installed and setup NPM and VoIP on a test server (so both versions are the EVAL) and the VoIP monitor service will not start at all.  When you try to start it from the manually from services it just fails with the following error:

could not start the solarwinds voip monitor service service on local computer

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion

I have tried removing and reinstalling and also re-running the confiuration wizard to no avail.

You've run into an issue we are currently investigating and trying to resolve.  It doesn't happen occur for for everyone so it has been quite difficult to figure out why this is happening.

For now you workaround the issue by following the instructions provided Microsoft at

What version of windows and are you running 32bit or 64bit?
