Alert Log

I see in the database there is an Alert Log that has all the alerts that have triggered along with their rearms. This has brought up two different questions:

What is the retention on the data in this table, is it configurable and if so, how?
Is there a front end in the WebUI to this that I just can't find?

P.S. I want to note that I was very pleased with the discovery of this as it really helps to support the certification and audit stuff. (e.g. SAS70 and PCI)

Hi,

1. It is configurable according to the Events Retention (in 9.5.1 and previous) setting on the Polling Settings page. Orphan data (something in the AlertLog with no ID in AlertDefinitions) is deleted immediately. Both of these are done during your scheduled DB maintenance.

2. There is no front end on the web for this table. A nice feature request though if you think this data is useful.
