Solarwinds orion Backup Server

hi dear sirs. we working on country, we have several branch with alot of devices like as cisco router and switch and hp servers. right now , we have one orion server on City A. we need solution for configuring the orion backup server. for example, if orion in City A is down, another one should be work. what is the solution?

If your subnets are spanned across locations and you can put both Orion servers on the same subnet, then you should look into HA.

we have a dedicated rack with data-center in each branch.

the subnets is like this

10.200.10.X city A

10.200.11.X city B

right now the solarwinds is in City A.

what is the deference between same subnet and separate subnets? we have route between all subnets.

HA requires the VIP and both pollers to be in the same subnet. Short answer to your question, I am not sure why it matters, but it does. Might be a question for engineering.

Absolutely correct. SolarWinds HA does not currently support separate subnets. Which is very common in a WAN environment for DR. Check out this thread, and the links I posted in it. There is what seems to be some tomfoolery to get it working. I'm pretty strict when deploying though -- I'd need it to be supported. Some good info regardless. I believe they're working on supporting WAN separate subnets in the next NPM version.
