Option to display password

Prior to version 6.1 you had an option to display passwords in ncm. After upgrading to 6.1 this option is missing for me.

Is this by design or is it a bug in 6.1?

Currently I have to set the passwords to be unencrypted in the DB and then manually search the DB for device credentials. I would like the option of displaying them in the admin interface or not.

In NCM 6.1 we did change the Website to not Display the Passwords, this was changed due to a large number of Customer Complaints about the Possibility of a Network Compromise.

In version 6.1 the password is masked in the client, including reports.

Prior to version 6.1 you had the option to mask the passwords or display them.

I would really like to see this option return.

Verify your security settings on the server's application console.

At the NCM console

File / Settings ...

2nd option should be Security

This is where you will find selection options for username and passwords

The problem is the security options are not there in 6.1.

I have the option to Encrypt Usernames and Passwords in the database, but the option to Hide(or not) passwords has been removed in 6.1

If your password is of type 7 you can view the config, select actions and then select Decrypt Type 7 Password.

Thanks, but you are missing the point. The issue is not showing passwords in configs, but rather in the NCM Manager when adding or editing a node.

I believe the users are speaking out. We want the ability to hide or view the password in the NCM. Again, if you are accessing the NCM, you should be at that level where you are entering the passwords and they should be know. By being able to view them verifies they are in place in different passwords are used for different devices

Wholeheartedly. As it is, I have to type my password macro into Notepad and paste it in. Annoying.
