Hi All,
I'm looking at Avaya VoIP support and need specifics on the Avaya equipment you are using. If you need to do this confidentially just reply and I'll open an email thread with you.
Thanks - Andy
What kind of specifics are you looking for? We're 95% Avaya here.
Awesome - I'll contact you.
Im interested in this aswell. Unfortunately running Avaya.
What Avaya servers and gateways do you use? Do you use PRI or SIP or?
Andy,
We are using S8710's, 8730's and a couple of 8400's. We also have a mixture of NEC VoIP equipment as well. I can get the details of the NEC equipment if you need.
We are heavily pursuing a VoIP monitoring tool that will give us what we need with our Avaya equipment. When do you think this will be available?
i am also an avaya voice shop (used to be data as well) and have 2 s8700s at my primary site, a single ESS server at my backup site, about 20 remote sites consisting of a g700 and an 8700 and all of it being monitored in Orion.
Hi Andy,
Don't know if you still need more information, but I have the following:
s8720 / g650
s8300 / g350
4610sw/4621sw IP phones
9600 series
Application Enablement Servers
Modular Messaging
CMS 13
Thanks for all you do...
Any suggestions to monitor above mentioned Avaya environment. One of our customer has Avaya environment and wants to monitor it through Orion Voipmodule. He has Avaya Cmmunication Manager and gateways.. Any suggestions..

They can use UnDP to add the devices today - also Avaya support is on the roadmap
So it is on the roadmap, which is great. How long does it normally take to make it to the product?
My voice team has selected Avaya for it's enterprise voice solution (VOIP).
Any ideas as to when direct Orion support of Avaya VOIP will be here??
I am a new user of the VoIP Monitor under NPM and also wish to monitor Avaya VoIP equipment and services. The equipment consists of Avaya G700, G650 Gateways and Avaya S8300 BLSP Servers and Avaya 4610 IP Handsets. Are you able to assist prior to the proposed future enhancements which support Avaya?
This is an update to my previous post on the list of Avaya VoIP equipment we wish to monitor
regards,
We (IT Dept.) were told just this morning that we will be purchasing Avaya's largest phone switch (we're talking lots of money here...). I haven't gotten any details yet (last to know :O )
What's the latest on Solarwinds and it's monitoring support for Avaya equipment?
Thanks.
No new updates. We're thinking about it, but nothing we can commit to at this point in time. In the meantime, you can monitor statistics on Avaya devices using the Universal Device Poller.

Add me to the list of your customers that want you to think more about it. ;-)
Got it.
I know I'm about 2 years late but I've only just purchaed Orion NPM.
We use Avaya extensively on a Global Basisc. Within the UK (my remit) we have 3 Avaya sites, a pair of 8730 servers, 2 x 8710 at remote sites. G650 cabs at all locations. All sites are ESS.
Any idea on when Avaya support will be available?
Cheers, Ellis.
EllisD,
Let me save you the trouble... Solarwinds is thinking about supporting Avaya... That is all that they will say... Some of us long time customers have been waiting years for this support option. Now that Avaya is moving into the SIP world and expanding into data networking (Nortel purchase), maybe they will develop their own tools for monitoring.
I have to say that I'm disappointed in the response to this request/issue...
SlotTCMS30,
I'm sorry that we have not been able to satisfy this request. Your statement is accurate. Avaya is the most requested platform for expanding support beyond Cisco Call Manager. However, even though it is the most requested additional platform doesn't mean that it is requested frequently. Our recent release included support for automatically discovering existing operations, this was seen as a much higher priority by a wider base of our customers. I know it doesn't address your specific request but we primarily make our decisions based on what will have the largest impact to our customers.
If the stats we pull from Call Manager are available via SNMP for Avaya, you can use a custom poller (UnDP) to collect this information. Is this something you are interested in? If so, I will create the UnDPs and post them on the content exchange (assuming the stats are available via SNMP). I realize this is not the same as adding them to the product but it would provide the same information. Would this help you?

Andy and SolarWinds Dev team,
Any word on this project? We are in the process of implementing the latest G450 and CM version 6.x, and I could really use a way to monitor/manage this solution from Orion.
I'd be happy to help answer your questions about the new code and hardware if necessary.
Dwyane
We are also using G450s and S8800 servers
thanks
I understand SolarWinds is working on MANY various aspects of your software (and stuff keeps getting better with each release). However, as you can see, many of your customers have a need for this particular functionality; and I know what we are asking for is not trival. But, is there any way, with the help of SolarWinds, that we can help develop an interim solution? Maybe build a view (or 2) that we all agree on, and then share it with Thwack for all to enjoy. I guess I'm just trying to find an interim workaround until development has the time and resources to dedicate to an integrated solution.
This thread was started 2 years ago and not a peep out of Solarwinds. C'mon guys.
I am no longer the PM for VoIP, Francois is the PM now so I'll let him comment.
Adding votes. Tks
Assuming the G450 (media gateway) and S8800/S8700 (server) are SNMP manageable, would a UnDP-based solution help?
Does your requirement include tracking on individual calls (CDR-Call Detailed Records)?
Tks for your input.
Doesn't look like much has changed, but looking for Avaya support on:
ERS switches
VOIP Call manager, AACCS, Callpilot
Avaya 8180 wifi
thanks for feedback. Could you tell us what do you need to monitor on Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch regarding VoIP & calls?
Michal
We are using Avaya Blue(Nortel) VOIP switchboards.
I have CS1000, BCM450 and BCM50 units and 1120,1220,1230 phones all over the world.
Is there a solution to monitor them with VOIP and IP SLA Manager?
Hi, our VNQM doesn't support Avaya now either IPSLA functionality - they are not compatible with Cisco.
One of my client is running Avaya Blue. They have a CS1000e using PRI and SIP trunks in a few buildings... Phones 1220, 1140e, and some SIP over wifi phones.
Michal,
I am brand new to Orion and have been attempting to set up MIBs for our AVAYA PBX. I got a response to a post I sent yesterday saying MIBs have to be added one at a time and that a feature request for a SNMP walk through the CM was being requested.
I have assigned 3 MIBs to a universal poller, however they are not showing up in NPM. Can you help me with this or refer me to someone who can? Would be great if someone could do a Go To Meeting with me so I can show them the issues I’m having.Thanks.
thanks for technical data Philip
Yes, we've three Avaya phone switches (with tens of thousands of phones connected to them).
open a private thread and I';l find someone who can give you the technical details.
We have a hundred or so Nortel/Avaya ERS switches, from 470s, to 5500s, to 4600 and 4800s. Also approximately 300 8100 series APs with 3 8180 controllers. Also, 2 Nortel CS1K several BCMs and several IP Offices.
We are considering expanding our Solarwinds investment, but would like to see more support for the Avaya products that we have.
Any update on this? Still waiting on instructions for Avaya.
