Why are my Solarwinds-DPA Database links disolving

Hi All.

We are in test mode at the moment and all is looking good to impress the money people.

However today I noticed that our links between Solarwinds and DPA seem to be falling off/dissolving.

I assigned the links Monday and Wednesday there were all missing. I re-assigned and they dissolved again with the next page refresh.

It is as though they are not saving in the database. Any ideas? I really want to get this over the line..

Support did a remote connect and identified that the "renamed" availability groups caused mismatches in the auto-matching process and that each pass re-set those that were not assigned.
A solution will be found.
Only occurred where there was "re-naming" so I will call this resolved.

Greg - if you are evaluating DPA, are you working with Sales? If not, I can connect you and get a sales engineer to take a look.

In general, mapping DB in DPA to DB in Orion happens automatically. Are you monitoring those DB in DPA?

Yes we are in demo mode.

The some servers were "renamed" in solarwinds to be more appropriate. Ergo they differ to DPA server names. The mapping held ok for a week. It is just the last couple of days that the mapping has dropped out.

I would have thought that the mapping was stored in a database so why dropping off?

It is concerning that this might happen if we go live. Time zones are an issue. We are Zulu + 8.
