Command Script vs Config Snippet - n00b question

Question

Not saying that I am a n00b, but I really don't see much difference between command scripts that you save and config snippets.  The differences I did notice were that the config snippets were a bit easier to get to, since that are docked on the right side of the screen.  I also noticed that the config snippets give you the option to write to nvram after applying the config change, and possibly rebooting the router.  This is also available in the command script, but you would have to manually type it in, in the appropriate place.  So my real question is: What way wouls SolarWinds suggest you do, or what are other Cirrus customers doing?

Well, as long as you don't check the box to write to memory, then reloading the device would fix it, but yes, I noticed that as well.  I do think that the command script would do the same thing though.  I don't believe that is the config snippet as much as it is your choice of communication method, TFTP versus Telnet.

I just installed it last week so I don't have much data to go on yet. What I DID notice though is that you have to be REALLY careful when you use the config snippets. If you have a 2 line snippet you want to add to your config and you have Cirrus set to use tftp to upload, after you upload the snippet you only have two lines in the config because the whole config was overwritten, not just added to. Cirrus DOES warn you about this but if you don't understand the warning or ignore it, you're going to have a VERY bad day.

We only ever use Command scripts as we don't make changes on the fly and most are done overnight so we need the automation.
