You are doing things correctly. Now that you have the UnDP's created all you need to do is configure an alert or set of alerts.
You can create one alert for each of these things, in the Advanced Alert manager you will need to select "Custom Node Poller" for the property to monitor on the Trigger Condition Tab. Then you can write an alert to trigger if the value is not equal to 2 or status is not equal to UP.
If you want to be fancy you can create one alert called HP System Health that will cover all of these pollers. To do this change the very top statement to say "Trigger Alert when ANY of the following apply" then under that add multiple condition groups that say "Trigger Alert when ALL of the following apply", one for each of the alert values.
