What are you trying to accomplish? You want to download and archive the configs or do you want to be able to change them?

Actually both. I'm a bit greedy I guess.... I am able to get a login via ssh and I think I could manage to build a template for mass changes but I would really like to have the config available and archived.

We have about 300 APC UPS's and changing passwords and other things is not a good time....

I noticed your company does Orion consulting, is that true?

I don't believe there is a APC template created, you will need to create a template with command sets making sure you have the correct system OID, login method, etc. I suggest you read the NCM Administrators guide Page 71-88 and look at the examples before trying this in a live environment.

pardon me if this is simplistic, but after you have a valid .ini file installed, couldn't you access the proper html:

172.33.21.18/.../genini.htm is the apc page and shoot it a <CR>? apply is the default.

No reflection on SolarWinds, I love the product, But I don't monitor my smart-UPS any more. They will report themselves faster. By keeping the independent, I get a different view of what's going on.

Any progress on this? We'd like to replace our APC IM device with NPM / NCM if possible but we need a complete solution. Looks like APC has a whole plug in to the MS SCCM framework. Wish we could get that for Orion.

I would also be interested in how this can be accomplished. We are looking to replace APC InfraStuXure with our Orion deployment

I figure it would take just as long to DL and apply the config, as it does to just console in and set the darn thing up.

Save your NCM diskspace I say, unless it is endless.

Sorry old thread I know but I wanted to let the OP know this device template might allow him to make the changes needed with NCM. We are now able to on our APC Smart-UPS X 1500 UPS's.
