Alert for temperature overshoot

Hello,

I will be generate an email alert for a temperature overshoot..

We are using Cisco switches and they have a temperature threshold of 65 degrees (Cescius).

But in a airco conditioned room (normal 24 degrees) there wil be no alarm if the temperature rises to a internal tempeture.

Is it posible to make an alert, witch sent me an email if the switch temperature will be (for example) 40 degrees Celsius?

Hi Harrie,

It's certainly possible. You would need to set up a custom UDP first, using the ciscoEnvMonMIB (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.x). Once this is configured, you can create an alert in Advanced Alert Manager.

we have the following setup that generates an alert when there is any hardware warning. this includes temperature warning on cisco switches.

Have this enabled but it did not work with the temperature e.g. 10 Air inlet remote 41C (46C,59C,62C) warning
