make a custom interface

I want to add buttons to our solarwinds interface for engineers to run sql scripts(ones that standardise custom properties).

I have tried to build an aspx page but it seems that some of the standard classes aren't working and don't want to play around with that.

Is there a best practice was adding buttons to custom html resources do tasks like this or any templates i can work from.
