Mail Error: 550 relaying denied.

hi,

In my email log (sendmaillog.txt) I keep getting the message 'Mail Error: 550 relaying denied'. This happened after i forgot to put a comma between email addresses in the setup.

It seems like it's stuck in a loop, or a queue. I've have purged the mail queue but still doesn't workl. I've also restarted the service and restarted the server, but still it doesn't do anything.

Hope someout out there can help.

Relay denied is an aspect of the SMTP server being used. It is typical for an internal-only SMTP to lock down where it will only accept mail for the local domain--no relays to the outside world.

You may be using the wrong SMTP server.

We have ones hard fixed for incoming mail (only addressed to domain we own-no relaying to outside world). Then we have ones for sending mail outbound to any host. The later may be locked down to only accept connections from our internal network, or requires user/pass before you can send.

Thanks for that, however i have already managed to sort this problem out.

Our server support guys enabled relaying on a temporary basis until syslog sent out the emails.
