Should Making A Copy Of A Policy Create Duplicate Copies Of Duplicate Copies Of Everything Underneath It?

I was making some compliance policies just now, and figured it would be easier to make one with everything in it that I would be working with, and then just copy it and remove some items from each copy.

When I went back through to adjust a couple of things, I noticed there were 5 copies of each rule that was in the policy I had copied.

I suppose I was thinking, when I copy the policy, it will simply be a "Copy of", but would still be using the same rules beneath it.

As it turns out, when I copied the policy, it just made copies, and copies of copies, of everything within it.

SolarWinds Environment:

Orion Platform 2015.1.2, NCM 7.4, NPM 11.5.2, DPA 10.0.0, QoE 2.0, IVIM 2.1.0, SAM 6.2.2

So, I would like to know if this behavior is intended, and, if so, why?

Yea, that is rather annoying when you don't intend it.   Especially since sometimes I only want to copy the Dynamic Selection rules to populate it with my own rules, not the ones that were in the initial policy.   Then you have to go delete all of the rules and the time you saved copying the policy is lost spending it deleting the rules.

Yea, I'd definitely like the ability to at least choose whether to link to existing rules or make copies of all of them.

Of course that being said, I'd also love enhanced search selection in the dynamic node selection, like the adding of parenthesis for one!

Or the ability to import/export rules (or policies come to think of it)
