Drive Space alert issue

I was thinking about creating a separate alert but wanted to ask here to see if someone had a solution.   I have configured an alert that monitors the disk space of all my servers.  I have one that will go up and down over the 80% threshold and will send alerts and all clear alerts. Has anyone been creative and knows how I might be able to modify this so it will send it when it is consistently over 80% or would it be easier to just create a separate alert for this?  Thanks!

That depends on what you mean by single volume overrides.  Instead of configuring the alerts to trigger based on a % threshold that covers all disks, you can use a few different options, for example:

• Custom Variables for volumes
• Capacity threshold based alerts

I think the custom variables is covered in this training, if not there are plenty of examples in Thwack.  This is also handy as well to adjust for larger drives.

For capacity threshold based alerts, instead of putting your alert in the format of "volume percent available is less than 15%" you would use something like this:

Then you can customize each volume as needed by going to the "Manage Nodes" page, and searching for the node you want to edit.  When it comes up, expand the list, check the box next to the volume and click "Edit Properties".  From that page, you can customize the volume's thresholds for alerts.

You can get very creative with thresholds because you can set the alert to warn when it might hit the critical value in X days.
