SolarWinds N-Able?

I hadn't heard of SolarWinds N-able so I went on SolarWinds' website and couldn't for the life of me find anything about it. I eventually stumbled upon this attachment on this discussion. Just wondering if it is true that SolarWinds is incorporating N-able and if we are going to see any additional software from SolarWinds in the near future? and should I be worried about the vulnerability listed above? This is totally news to me O.o

Thank you very much for the question. SolarWinds did acquire N-able in 2013 and N-able was renamed SolarWinds N-able earlier this year. SolarWinds N-able continues to operate in such a way as to remain 100% focused on its MSP (Managed Service Provider) target audience. We feel that this better aligns our messaging and materials to the appropriate audience and the SolarWinds N-able brand therefore is not prevalent on the main SolarWinds home page.

We do continually look to leverage resources across the company to maximize the value of our products to customers. SolarWinds products are carefully evaluated for potential fit within the MSP market.

I am glad you asked this question as I had recently been mulling over the idea of asking a similar question. Why does N-able continue to be excluded from SolarWinds? It doesn't show up on the home page and it doesn't show up in Thwack. I would understand if this were a new acquisition but it's not, it was acquired back in 2013.

The vulnerability mentioned was resolved in an update a while back. Specifically RSM build 178. For those who use the Solarwinds N-able software the upgrade instructions and release notes for the latest release (build 181) are located here: https://nrc.n-able.com/support/SoftwareDownloadArchive/SupportManager/Pages/SupportManager-181.aspx .
