showing only APC-UPS alerts in a seperate view

i have configuered alerts for ups and i want to show these alerts on main page in seperate subview .. seperate view for just

ups alerts

like this

i want to show this piece of information

in this box UPS-ALERT

The only solution I can think of is a new view with a page limitation. I was thinking you might be able to break down your summary page into tabs and have one that Overall another UPS focused, Network focused, Server focused and so on, but after testing the View Limitation affects all tabs. I think you will have to create a completely separate view for UPS and just add it to your summary bar. Now that I think of it i wish we could filter that resource like we can with many others.

Create New View

Settings - Manage Views
Add or Copy (if the view you want to create is similar to a view you already have)
Name the view (I would suggest UPS - Summary or something along those lines to prevent issues with confusing view names)
Select view type (if you want to keep a similar view the type would be Summary). Submit
Add any desired resources
Edit the view limitation
Apply the limitation method most suited for your view (If you only want one vendor and all of that vendor select Hardware Manufacturer, I am partial to making groups (named for the department/role/situation) and using the Group limitation that fits.)
Preview and test (take note of the URL you will need it latter (/Orion/.......)

Add View to Menu Bar

Setting - Customize Menu Bars
Find the appropriate menu bar you need to modify and click Edit (You can find this under the user/group the user will be logged in as Settings - Manage Account - Edit User/Group the Default Menu Bar and Views section)
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Add
Name the Menu Item (this will appear in the menu bar)
Put in the URL to your view (if the URL when looking at the view was "http://Solarwinds/Orion/SummaryView.aspx?ViewID=130" you will enter "Orion/SummaryView.aspx?ViewID=130"
Enter the view description (this will be seen in a tooltip when you hover over the item while editing the menu so it is important)
Click OK, submit and test it out.

I hope this helps you figure this out and now that you know when you might you these features i would strongly recommend reading over the admin guide and/or watch some fo the SolarWinds videos on youtube or the customer portal they can be very helpful.

thnx . but i just want resource not a view .i want same view and and different resource and which value should be selected .i dnt want all aterts . just only and only alerts related to ups . when i select all alerts and in limitation i select apc even then i get alerts for all nodes . so which particular property should be selected for ups thnxxx

I am not seeing any way int NPM 11.5.3 to apply a filter to the alerts resource, which I why I suggested an alternative. I think there would need to be a feature request submitted to allow for the filtering you are wanting.
