Does Solarwinds have any universal pollers for Nortel/Avaya gear?

I have lots of Avaya gear, and we can't get anything beyond up/down for the ports. I've searched the content exchange and it is as if no one uses these devices. Does anyone have any custom pollers for the Avaya/Nortel 4548 switches they would mind sharing?

What sort of Nortel/Avaya gear? We've got Nortel/Avaya ERS series switches (5600's and 8600's) and I get all sorts of useful data out of them in Orion NPM.

We have a gamut of Nortel ERS 4548 PWRs. What sorts of info are you getting from them? Do you do any alerting on uplinks going down? What about power on restarts? I have NO useful info.

Ours are ERS 5650TD-PWR switches. On them I can see (for any port I am monitoring anyway), Percent Utilization, error and discards, traffic data, up/down data for ports. When a switch gets rebooted, a message shows up in the NPM event log. Same if an interface goes down and comes back up. I also created a custom poller for temperature since we wanted that data which works great. We were using NPM on our ERS 8600 cores but due to a bug in the code level we are running on them, SNMP polling would cause CPU utilization to go through the roof and kill the core switches until they were rebooted. Once we upgrade our code level on the cores that problem should go away. I can get cpu and memory info on them out of the box though.

I imagine if I create more custom pollers for the ERS 5650's I can pull more data out of them, just haven't had time. We have a remote site we are partly managing that has ERS 4524PWR switches. I can try to see if I can set one of them up to see what I get in comparison to the 5600's and let you know.

currently testing an ERS 4548GT-PWR at that remote site and I'll let you know how it goes. One thing I can say for sure right now though is the custom poller for temperature that I created works on this switch as it pulled a value right away.

the ERS 4548GT-PWR seems to use the exact same MIB's as the ERS 5520-24T-PWR ,the ERS 5698TFD-PWR and the ERS 5650TD-PWR that we have. I can see the exact same data regardless. One thing that none of them do however is monitor CPU and memory by default. There are OID's for them in the MIB though. I have the custom universal poller I created for temperature and I created a custom poller for CPU (which has OID's for 10 sec, 1min, 10min and 24 hours) which work well. I can tell you the exact MIB and OID's if you want. Regardless I am definately seeing by default all the same data on all switches and I do get alerted to ports going up and down and the switches getting rebooted in the Events in NPM. I don't as of yet have either of these events set to email, they just write to the events log in NPM.

Thanks that will be great. We have a large Nortel/Avaya deployment here. It would be great to get some temp data. We actually have a power supply that we are watching temp on.

I have uploaded the poller to the documents under Network Performance Monitor. Called Nortel-Avaya ERS Switch Temperature Poller in the Universal Device Pollers sub-category. If that doesn't work, try sending me a PM and we can work it out.

In addition to a Temperature Sensor UnDP that I've had for awhile, I also have a poller to retreive the Chassis Serial Number from the ERS 5000 series switches (finding it doesn't work on a new 4800 switch I just put into production). For Avaya/Nortel Secure Router 1000 and 3120 models, I have UnDP pollers for QoS bandwidth in particular queues and the chassis serial number.

Are any of you using avaya wifi gear? We have the Avaya 8180 controller, and while I've been able to locate and setup a custom poller for the total clients on the unit, I need to pull information about the connected APs, clients per AP, etc. I've found the appropriate portions of the mib tree (I think) unfortunately, these are all tables and when I try to poll them I just get a dump of ALL the data in a single column, not something usable.

The tree that actually has the data I appear to need is this:
