I have a custom field (plain text) in my nodes table that displays; contact, circuit info etc. Does anyone know how to link this field to the alerts so that when a node goes down I receive this info? Using only e-mail alerts right now, all I get is "C2611XM is down". I would like to have this information, so that I do not have login to the website to find it.
or any other ideas?

What we do is include the Circuit ID and contact info within the device's configuration (interface descriptions, snmp location field, etc.). Then Orion keeps track of them and they can be referenced within the alerts by using the macros.

Yeah, that's probably the best way to do it. I migrated from What's UP Gold and just used to those alerts.
Thanks for the tip!

Insert into your alert email:
Contact and Circuit Info: ${
