SLA license size question

Hi there,

I'm trying to decide what size SLA License I would need and I have a question about determining the number of SLA sources I will have. Say, for example, that I have 2 sites joined by a DS3. Would I only need to have 1 source, or would I require 2 sources to monitor the connection in both directions?

Hello,

Operations are only created on one side, the source node. If you want to monitor connection both directions then an operation would need to be created on both nodes. Therefore you would have 2 source nodes and 2 nodes would count towards the license. Once the node is a source node, you can have as many operations assigned to it as you want without it counting to your license.

NP. Most of the time I see customers create operations on each side to be thorough. It also depends on the operation type and your needs/preferences.
