A CUSTOMER was asking what advantage does APM has in their existing MOM. What features does APM have which MOM doesnt etc..
pls help
I think the real question is why you should buy APM instead of MOM. Some of the advantages of APM are:
actually mom are already existing on their servers. we are implementing the npm to all the cisco devices and we are trying to position APM inplace of their mom.
if there is a documentation as to the comparison between apm and mom, i would greatly appreciate, so i could be able to present properly.
thanks
I'm in the same boat. I'm looking for a comparison. We are a SCOM 2007 shop and currently utilizing NPM on the Networking side of the house. We've got some licensing for APM, but not enough to monitor our whole environment (4 CAS servers, 4 MB servers). Does anyone have a side by side comparison or report breaking down the commonalities/differences? Sure, I can pull down the admin guides for each, but wasn't looking to reinvent the wheel.
I would recommend contacting your SolarWinds sales rep. They speak with customers in similar situations to the one you're in on a daily basis. I'm sure they would be able to assist you.
