Netflow Licensing

If I buy NTA do I have to get the same license as I have for NPM? For example, I have NPM unlimited, but I only want to collect netflow for around 60-80 devices. Can I get away with only buying the 100 device license, or do I have to get the unlimited to match NPM?

it has to match up. same for additional polling engines if you have them.

No. Currently, you have to have the same license because Solarwinds wants you spend $25,000 that you don't need to spend.

It's total horsecrap.

I would contact Support and express your displeasure.

The license for NTA is based on the size of your NPM managed environment, not the number of flows being received or devices sending flows. I am happy to talk with any offline in more detail about this if you would like.

Has nothing to do with the amount of devices you are monitoring, only the amount of paper licenses.. agree this is bs.. We are in the process of changing to a different monitoring tool with better capabilities.. this is a cheap trick to get more money.
