Alerts not triggered for certain groups

Hi all,

I have a wierd problem where alerts get triggered when only some groups go in to a Warning or Down state. The alert trigger at the moment is very simple, if a group status is Warning or Critical.

I can see this only has affect on some groups.

We have grouped our routers according to the type of WAN service they offer. Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze.

Silver & Bronze alerts get generated when a group is in warning. However Gold and Platinum do not seem to generate an alert.

Also, all our devices are grouped in to sites as well. When a router goes down, the site group goes in to a warning state but does not trigger an alert.

If you need more details of our group structure then let me know. I find that group alerting is a bit flaky / buggy at the moment. Is anyone else finding that?

We are using NPM 10.1 at least.

Any help would be great.

can you post a screenshot of the alert trigger?

You can see how we group our devices. Alerts are triggered when the Firewalls Group goes in to a warning state, but not when Gold Routers, go in to a warning state for instance.

Are the group status roll ups all the same? (Best, worst, mixed)

Hi Andy,

yes, all groups are at the default rollup status of Mixed. I have a situation occuring right now where a Gold router is down and so the group is in a warning state, yet no alert triggered. Wierd or what?
