SW EE V9 Toolset Launcher - resource hog

I have installed SW EE V9 on my laptop.

Just in case you have limited memory on your PC/server....

I just noticed in my taskmanager that the toolset launcher is running in the back ground & using 30Mb of memory.
The SWToolset.exe also uses 8Mb of memory, with no tools running (V8 uses 7Mb).

So after a cold boot the SW toolset consumes 38Mb of memory without even running anything.

I kind of liked the V8 toolset which had shortcuts installed in my Start menu...

Just FYI, you can still access the shortcuts for all tools in v9 through the Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset. This hasn't changed from v8 to v9. If you are concerned about memory usage, you can always stop the Toolset Launchpad. Simply right-click on the system tray icon and uncheck "Start Toolset Launchpad each time I login" and then select "Exit".

BTW, are you finding "SWToolset.exe" in your v9 Engineer's Toolset folder? I don't have this process running and can't find this executable in my v9 installation directory

I've disabled the Launchpad now.

I just checked & the swtoolset.exe is actually an ActiveX control which gets installed as part of the Orion toolset integration.
It runs from - C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\SWToolSet.Engine

Right, that makes sense. I don't have Orion integration installed on my laptop so that's why I wasn't seeing that process.
