Monitor Hard Drive Failure/ RAID on HP Proliant DL380G5

Hi,

We are running Orion NPM 9.5 in our organization. We are several HP Proliant DL 380 G5 servers running ESX 3.5. We want to monitor hard drive failures/ raid degrades on these servers. Can someone point me in the right direction if the above monitoring is possible?

The way that we do this (we use HP Proliants as well) is by watching for SNMP Traps. The HP systems will send traps when their hard drives change state.

I'm looking into the same thing. It would pain me to set up trap forwarding on all our physical servers, but would certainly be a possibility. I just set it on a few servers with already failed disks or ones that I know are most likely to fail soon. How have you set up your alerts if can share?
