Alert testing question

Hi,

Ive created an alert that looks at group membership and is supposed to alert when a member of a particular group is down.

I have 2 switches

DC Core

Branch Access

Both switches belong to different groups (DC and Branch). When i test a triggered alert on the Branch Access switch i receve an email on the DC Core switch and group.

How can i be 100% confident that the alert received will be for the correct group. How can i test that the trigger is working correctly without powering off the device?
