The user sent me this info on the alert that didn't trigger:
1) the server went down thursday evening due to panic.
2) nscd application alert triggered.
3) ping down alert did not trigger (alert is coded exactly as wintel alert with minor change to snmp community string.)
4) server was noted as unreachable/down, unpingable in solarwinds but no alert triggered.
5) even in testing next day alert would not work.
6) pulled spreadsheet of systems, everything matched up for the alert to wrk.
7) test alert by shutting down aztst1, coding aztst1 as gold/silver. No alert. Not even in testing.
8) removed special contact trigger condition, still no alert. Even tested alert with no results.
9) removed all trigger conditions, and readded trigger conditions. Alert started working. Did not change any other tabs on the alert itself apart from alert trigger conditions coding.
