Remote Traceroute Tool

Hi Guys,

Is there any tool available which will allow to perform Trace route from a remote source address to destination without connecting to the remote server? Something like proxy ping , but we need Proxy Traceroute capability. I know there's a tool alled Pingplotter available which can do similar things. But was wondering, for any better recomendation.

One place to start is http://www.traceroute.org/ These work if you are interested in external traceroutes.

You can also look at the gateway option -g gate,... --gateway=gate,...

Thanks. Problem is I am trying to perform this trace route operation in a private network. So there's no way devices can go to public IP to do the traceroute.
