Linux Operating System - SSH Fails

How do you get the SSH component to work in order to get have the Linux Operating System monitor function properly. I put in the correct credential and it always fails. Is this something similar to when you do an ssh from a command line and it prompts for authenticity?

Any help provide would be greatly appreciated as this is quite frustrating currently.

What error message do you get? Can you login to that server using Putty (and the same username/password)?

Currently Linux/Unix Script Monitor only supports authentication using a username/password. Are you sure, that your SSH server is not set to require certificate authentication?

When we login with PuTTY we have to check a box to accept the unsigned cert. Is this going to cause an issue like Martin spoke of ?

My specific error is as follows:

Testing on node deviceName: failed with 'NotAvailable' statusThe script returned status code DOWN. unable access to localhost

The certificate you're being asked to accept in Putty is for the protocol encryption. What Martin is referring to using client side certificate authentication in lieu of conventional user names and passwords to authentication via SSH.

If you're being prompted for a username and password to authenticate when you SSH to the host then you're not using certificate based authentication.
