Orion NCM and Active Directory Integration issue

Good day,

Having a problem getting Orion to use Active Directory for user authentication... Here's the situation:

Orion is on XP Pro SP2, box is attached to domain "orion.example.com". I am logged in as a domain admin on the Orion XP SP2 box. when I go to the "Manage Orion Network Configuration Manager Users" option from the "file" menu, the only location I am able to search is the Local host - I cannot see the domain listed.

What could be the problem? The DC and the Orion box can communicate with each other, I am logged in using a domain admin account... so why can't orion see the domain? The Orion box itself is a member of the domain, so... ?

Can you post a screenshot of what you see when you click on Location in Select Users dialog.

You can see a screenshot from one of my XP Sp2 box. It should show your AD domain structure.

I cannot easily post a screenshot because our development/prototype systems are air-gapped from the rest of the production networks. However, I can tell you that in MY location box, all I see is the local computer name (XPPRO1 in my case, I see yours is called SCHAUTHANI-DEV). There is no entry for "entire directory" nor any entries for the domain itself (called "ORION" in our environment). Which is odd because I LOGGED INTO XPPRO1 using a domain admin user account that does not even exist on the local machine.

I am going to try to do this again from scratch. I have a feeling that my problems are related to the fact that the Orion NCM server was originally not part of a domain when it was installed, instead it was added to the domain later. I suspect if it had been a member of the domain and installed by a domain admin that I would not have this problem. Will let you know when I finish.
