Issue:

Operation on TrustedPublisher Failed message when running Server Publishing Setup Wizard to distribute a Certificate.

Troubleshooting:

The “Operation on Trusted Publisher failed” message is often an indication that UAC is interfering with the distribution of the certificate. Using the BUILTIN\Administrator account for the target machine as the credential usually eliminates this issue.

To address this issue, one can create a COMPUTER rule in your Credential Ring for the ExtPack server and assign the .\Administrator account to that rule. Once the distribution is successfully completed, you can remove the rule and revert to using the account currently configured.

If that does not solve the problem, or you are already using the Administrator account, please send a mail to Customer Support for further help on troubleshooting this issue.

Additionally, SolarWinds now has an update available for this issue that applies to systems running v1.72.

If you are concerned about this issue, please upgrade to v1.72. You will need to acquire your new activation key from the Customer Portal to re-activate the v1.72 installation. The update is available for download in your Customer Portal page.
