Restart a service with multiple attempts??

Is there a way to have the restart a service attempt multiple restarts? Say after 30 min if it still sees the service down?

We have at time citrix print service that hangs the process. So the service can't actually be restarted. but after some time the process will die out. This is when i see it on the applications down list and manuly via solawinds start the service. I would like to have it done automatically via the alert.

Is this possible??

I opened a ticket about this and got these options to try. Hope this may help others.

What you want to try is the following

First option
Reset Condition << Select "No reset condition- Trigger this alert each time the trigger condition is met.

So if the condition still exist it will trigger the action again.


Second option
Reset Condition << Reset this alert automatically after XX Minutes

So the condition will be met next minute and execute the action again.

Third option
Trigger action << Execute Settings << Repeat this action every X minutes until the alert is acknowledged

Repeat this action every X Minutes


Fourth option
Trigger Action << Add Escalation Level
Wait Time XX Minutes
Add the same action again

You can repeat this as many times as you want.
