Failed to publish (verification of file signature failed for file)

I found this: and followed the instructions, but found that my certificate had indeed already been created and is good for another 9 years, and that even after making sure the certificate was installed on my WSUS sever, the issue persists. I'm trying to publish the adobe flash player 11.4.402.287 ActiveX and Plugin MSI Upgrade packages.

I ran into this issue as well. My issue ended up being related to the Windows Update patch that was just pushed out via automatic updates that requires the publishing certificate be at least 1024-bit in strength. By default, my original cert was only 512-bit. After working with a Solarwinds tech, I found instructions on how to regenerate the publishing certificate, which will generate the new one using 2048-bit encryption once the Microsoft patch has been applied to the server:

Downside is that the new publishing cert has to be applied to all workstations. We don't run Active Directory, so it's a time consuming manual process for us. But so far, it seems to be working, and I'm able to publish new packages again.
