Is there way to configure the number of retries in the RADIUS user experience performance monitor? It looks like the default is 3.

I'm looking for a way to configure the RADIUS user experience monitor to try to connect only once, instead of making 3 attempts.

The number of retry attempts for SAM component monitors are not configurable, though this is would make an excellent feature request.
