HI- We would like to monitor our HP EVA HSV200 for failed drive status through Orion. We do not have Storage Manager or anything like it.
Is this a possibility? If so, what is the best way to do so?
Thank you!
If your HP EVA HSV200 can respond to SNMP requests and if there is an OID for disk drive status, then you could add it to NPM and poll it with the Universal Device Poller (UnDP) via EVAs Command View Server. Try adding the Command View Server to NPM then use the UnDP tool to poll the OID.
The following video shows how to create a UnDP.

's suggestion is probably the best, but another one that might be easier would be to enable SNMP Traps from the device. You can then alert when an SNMP trap related to a hard drive failure is received. The following thread leads me to believe this should be possible.

Another option is to use syslog forwarding from your EVA Management server to your NPM server. I've done that in the past for EVA 6400 & 8400's, but not 100% sure about the HSV200. You can use SolarWinds free log forwarder app to do it.
hi all,
may i know how you configure STM to monitor your HP EVA?
i've configured everything but STM still unable to see any data with "device monitored by another agent" on the status.
we're using commview v9.x on win2k3
thanks.
