Automatic DNS updating from IPAM

Hi All,

Have been using IPAM software for a couple of months now having previously used Excel Sheets. Was wondering if anyone can advise me whether IPAM software can in any way Update A records on our DNS server ( we have windows 2008 server)

So in essence what ideally i want is to put in a hostname on an IP which will lead to updating DNS on windows server in some way.

Sorry for the vague terms, im not really a windows or programming person.

Much appreciate any help , at the moment we have to manually go into the domain controller and put in A-records which is a real pain.

Unfortunately this is not a feature we currently support. We have had other requests for integration with DNS, but are not currently working on those (other requests have higher priority).

It's something we are seriously looking in to. I will contact you offline because I would like to get more detail about what exactly you would like to see and your environment.

We recently purchased IPAM.

But in order to replace our 'in-house' product with IPAM, we'd also need...

1) the ability to update DNS when entering IP information.

2) Ability to ping sweep a subnet within IPAM . (preferrably not via an external tool such as the engineering toolset).

If these features can be added to wishlist, that would be great.
